The deceased was one of theold settlers of the county, coming here over fifty years ago, and hadlived on the farm where he did nearly all of this time. He has been inpoor health for a long time, suffering from a cancer on his face anddropsy. The funeral services were held at the house at 11 o'clockThursday and the body taken to Brownville for burial [possiblySheridan Cemetery]. The deceased leaves an aged wife and twochildren--John M.
