  Oral history provided by Leonard Elwood Sabin to Lynn Sabin11/07/2002. Edwin Sabin moved his family from Isle, Minn. to Winatchee, Wash. in1934, where they picked apples. Soon thereafter they took the trainback to Isle, Minn. In 1935, Edwin got a job with the Coal SpringsGranite Co., and the family moved to Millen, Wisc., in 1935. In August1942 the family moved to Beaverton, Ore., where Edwin was hired as awelder in the Henry J. Kaiser Shipyard, on Hayden Island (then calledVan-Port), north of Portland, Oregon. About 1945, Will Downs (EdithGeorge's second husband) helped Edwin get a job servicing boilers forPacific Power & Light, under the Pittock Block, in downtown Portland,Oregon. Edwin worked there until his retirement, about 1970. EdwinSabin was a lifelong member of the Masons. He was last a member of theLodge in Beaverton, Oregon. Edwin Sabin and Beulah Irland may have been married in Lincoln, Neb.
